China Agricultural Economic Review (CAER, IF=4.4, JCR Q1) is an academic journal published by Emerald in association with China Agricultural University (CAU) and listed as a Top 3 journal in the field of Agricultural economics and Policy.
Previously CAER-IFPRI Annual Conference was successfully and continuously held sixteen years with different universities or institutes. With the aim of continuing these successful conferences, CAER and International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) is delighted to announce its seventeenth annual conference, and this Call for Papers and Proposals for institutes interested in co-organize the conference, slated for October 09-11, 2025 at Beijing.
The theme of 2025 conference is on exploring Interdisciplinary Approaches to Modernizing Agriculture and Rural Areas: Innovations and Strategies.
Help to announce the conference information on university/institution website and to circulate the information in social platform/by mail list;
Help to provide visa-support invitations to international participants;
Provide academic support such as host sessions and/or recommend potential speakers;
Circulate the conference information, advertise and promote the conference in scientific platform;
Financial and logistic support will be needed.
We invite researchers to explore innovative strategies and solutions that leverage interdisciplinary perspectives in the process of modernizing agriculture and rural areas.
Topics may include but are not limited to:
Emerging agricultural technology innovations and applications
Transformation of food system
Interdisciplinary collaboration and rural economic transformation
Climate change and agricultural production
Agricultural policy and technological innovation
Community participation in agricultural modernization
Digital transformation and rural development
Agricultural production and environmental protection
Genetic biology and rural agricultural development
Socio-cultural factors and agricultural modernization
International comparisons of agricultural modernization
Education and training in agricultural and rural modernization

All submissions will be evaluated by two independent reviewers with respect to their (a) relevance of the topics and potential for discussion, (b) originality, (c) academic quality, and (d) clarity of exposition.
The proposed sessions are encouraged to be Perspectiveness, Diversification, Internationally and Interdisciplinary.
Author(s)of the accepted papers/sessions, or at least one of them, are required to register and present their work at the conference.
Registration Fee
RMB 1500 (Chinese Currency), including entrances to the sessions, badge, conference program, printed proceedings, coffee breaks, welcome reception, and meals during the conference. The registration fee will be paid at the conference registration desk.
Publication
The conference will compile proceedings for reference, and the organizing committee will select and recommend the high-quality submitted papers to be published in CAER journal.
Language
English. No simultaneous language interpretation will be provided.
Award
We will award the best papers presented at the conference and the outstanding papers published in CAER. The winner will receive a certificate and cash awards.
